She & Him - Volume 3

Yes! It's finally time for She & Him's third album, Volume 3, to hit the stands, and it couldn't come soon enough for us here.

Actually, Volume 3 was released last week, but we've only just had chance to review it. But as ever, it was worth waiting for.



As you probably know, Volume 3 isn't actually She & Him's third album, but their fourth - that is, if you're counting A Very She & Him Christmas, which we are.

Personally, I'd be as happy hearing tracks from the latest album (such as Never Wanted Your Love, which you can stream via the SoundCloud player above) alongside any of the earlier releases, even the Christmas songs.

With She & Him, it's about enjoying a classic sound - it's not 'timeless', because it's very much the sound of the past, and that's not a problem at all.

Once again, there's glorious album art courtesy of Autumn De Wilde, which will look fine on your iPod screen, but also probably makes it worth buying the CD if you want to gaze lovingly into Zooey's eyes (or M. Ward's, for that matter).

And if you happen to be in the USA in June and July, look out for a tour date - starting in Nashville on June 13th and ending in Vienna, VA on July 11th.

Pick of the venues for us has to be June 23rd's appearance at the Hollywood Bowl, likely to be something of a homecoming for Deschanel, who remains best known to many for her TV and big-screen acting career.
